    Thanks for the question Mervyn.

First up, we have allocated budgets for software engineers to take up standard Pluralsight courses or similar online trainings from similar platforms. We also shoulder the cost for attending local software conferences.

In addition to that we have allocated times for developers to take up training during company time, which we call LearnUp. People usually spend anywhere from 2-4 hours on Fridays (or other days as agreed with their people leader) to give time for professional development and learning.

Do you have a specific training that you'd like to take?

As a software developer, we work closely with our mentors and people leaders to develop a career development plan. And from there, it's a matter of creating opportunities. We attend conferences and meetups, we have subscriptions to online learning venues like Pluralsight. As Jon mentioned, we also dedicate 2-4hrs per week for personal learning.

Of course, we also have the venue of learning on the job and we do a lot of pairing and mobbing to upskill our members and build up shared knowledge.

As a developer who is fairly new the company, aside from the LearnUp session mentioned above, what I love is the learning that takes place while on the job.

The company has a learning culture wherein you can ask anyone in the organization and they would be happy to pair and share their knowledge with you.
