Some common challenges include working with colleagues in varied timezones. Often I will have to communicate with co-workers in the Australian office who are 9 hours ahead of me in Dublin, Ireland or the USA who are also in different timezones. This can be difficult when co-ordinating projects but I use tools such as slack to help with this. Even with this challenge I have never found myself to be expected to work unreasonable hours. Another challenge can be project deadlines but I work with project managers to avoid unrealistic deadlines and pressure.
