About the Role
PageUp is on the hunt for a permanent full time Tax and Compliance Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
This role is pivotal in ensuring all statutory, tax and reporting obligations or lodgements across 6+ jurisdictions (including Australia, US, UK, Ireland, France and Singapore) are completed accurately and within the required timeframes. The responsibilities include:

Manage the global compliance reporting timetable to ensure all compliance requirements and reporting obligations are completed accurately in a timely manner.

Liaise with external service providers for the preparation, review and lodgement of all direct and indirect tax returns for all regions. This includes local Corporate Income Tax, GST / VAT, FBT, Sales & Use Tax, Transfer Pricing, Withholding Tax, R&D Claims, and tax effect accounting.

Develop and implement tax strategies to ensure compliance with international tax laws whilst optimising the company’s global tax positions.

Drive continuous improvement in tax systems, processes, and controls, including automation opportunities and improved audit trails.

Maintain company registrations and statutory filings across all jurisdictions (ASIC and relevant US states).

Manage the register of US states of operation, ensuring registration and compliance for Sales/Use Tax, State Annual Reports, and Income Tax.

Coordinate the corporate insurance renewals and manage any insurance claim where necessary with the insurance brokers.

Prepare and review financial statements for statutory and audit purposes, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations. This includes preparation of technical accounting papers where necessary.

Act as the point of contact for external advisors such as the auditors, tax advisors, insurance brokers and company secretarial providers for all regions.

Complete any surveys required by local bureaus such as the ABS in Australia and National Statistics in the UK.

Support the preparation of regular reporting metrics for sustainability and/or ESG targets.

Support with any recurring or ad hoc reporting requirements from shareholders and lenders.

Assist with the month end and year end close process, including preparation / approval of journals, review of certain P&L line items and review of balance sheet reconciliations.

Assist with budgeting and forecasting associated with tax and compliance costs.
About You

CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent tax qualifications) with experience in tax and compliance for multi-jurisdictional organisations.

Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge with the ability to apply them in practice.

Proven success in navigating the requirements of new legislations or standards.

Proficient in professional tax software, ERP systems, and Excel.

Prior experience with systems such as NetSuite and OneSource is favourable.

Prior experience with US tax and compliance is advantageous, but not essential.
