Technical Lead

Melbourne, Australia

Technical Lead

  • Melbourne, Australia
  • Full time

People are a company's greatest asset! Luckily we realised that early on and built an innovative SaaS platform to help clients (and ourselves of course!) recruit, develop, engage and support their people. From our humble beginnings in Melbourne, we have grown consistently to be a leader in talent management software. We now have offices in Australia, New York, London, Dublin, Singapore and Manila.

The Opportunity at PageUp

You will lead an agile development team (squad) within our cross-functional Next Generation stream to deliver immediate value into the hands of our users and customers.

We practice insight-lead lean product innovation, and as such you will collaborate closely with the squad’s product manager and user experience designer to ensure we create outstanding experiences for our users and customers.

This role would be a great fit for a full-stack team lead who’s passion and background also provides them a deep knowledge in building scalable, continuously delivered, front end platforms in React.

You will also contribute to the delivery of new healthy platform capabilities in alignment with our product architecture vision and operational and reliability improvements to existing capabilities.

Our people are really important to us, so asides from the technical, design and delivery components to the role you will also be supported to lead and coach a high performing development team that promotes our courageous culture through open feedback.

Some of the skills that you will be able to develop and learn in this role:

  • C# / .Net
  • React
  • AWS
  • TDD & BDD
  • Real DevOps culture
  • Microservices and event-driven (and sourced!) distributed architecture
  • WebAPI/ MVC
  • Design patterns (like CQRS, Event Sourcing, DDD)
  • Insight-lead lean product innovation (design thinking, lean startup)

You’ll be a fit if you like to;

Lead - We have a lot of great people working for us, we want you to share the same passion for developing them as we do!

Be Purpose Driven - We require team members to take ownership over the initiatives we are working on and getting them into the hands of our users. You will help the team prioritize their time and ensure we are working on the most valuable initiatives for our customers.

Communicate - We share our challenges early. At PageUp, we don't go down rabbit-holes when faced with a tricky problem. Instead, we pause, collaborate, perhaps over a whiteboard and work together to formulate a solution.

Collaborate - You’ll be working in a fast-paced collaborative cross-functional team. You’ll be providing and receiving feedback on a daily basis, we critique each other's code and suggest improvements on a daily basis.

Test, test, test - We write twice as much test code as production code to ensure a high standard and to facilitate changing business needs.

Be Courageous - you will step up to advocate the right thing, go out on a limb for a bold idea and inspire others to do the same in a way that works for them and create a safe environment in which others can express their ideas.

So what makes us stand out?

Our customers love PageUp for its deep functionality and ability to be customised for a range of workflows and industries, all accompanied by outstanding customer service. We continue to look at ways we can provide more value to our clients. We have a product team of over 60 in Melbourne and value knowledge sharing and learning between the team.

And of course, the perks

There’s something for everyone across our benefits – an extra day of leave to do something awesome (no really – it’s called Awesome Day), paid parental leave for primary and secondary careers, flexible working, health benefits, a wellbeing allowance, employee assistance program, volunteer leave and more.

Our global presence also means those with a little wonderlust have the opportunity to take their career to new places. Pardon the pun.

Sound like your kind of role? Then we’d love to meet you!

At PageUp, we’re passionate about connecting great people to great careers, so we encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to apply. Building diverse teams is the foundation of our success, so if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single criteria on the job description, please still reach out to us. We'd love to have a chat and see how you could fit in the PageUp team.
