Senior Developer

  • Melbourne, Australia
  • Full time
  • PageUp

Here's what we know for sure: companies work well when they've got the right people. That's what inspired us to build a SaaS platform that makes recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining people simple. From humble beginnings in Melbourne, we are now proud to have homes in Sydney, the USA, UK, Singapore, Manila, and Dublin. Our platform is used by 5.3 million customer-employee users in over 190 countries, (but that's enough about us).

The Role

PageUp is experiencing growth and with innovation at the heart of what we do, we have a position for a full-stack Software Developer to join our team in Melbourne.

Using design thinking to deliver incremental value to our clients creates opportunities for us to split our customer-loved .NET app into event-sourced micro-services and continuously-delivered single-page applications. Come get your hands dirty as we set out on one serious journey and be a seminal part of our team as we revolutionise the way our customers can configure our software.

Our technical stack

We're fully hosted on AWS. Even the legacy part of our software is deployed daily to five AWS regions, whereas our more modern code is in continuously delivered microservices & single-page apps. As any successful software company with a long enough history will attest, we have a significant amount of product complexity and technical debt that we are wrangling with on any given day.

What do we look for in a developer in our team?

People passion - We are a collaborative team, you will learn from other talented developers and share your knowledge with them as well.

Raving tech fan - You like researching and learning about new technologies and different ways to solve problems.

Purpose-driven - You want to understand why you are doing something and make sure that it leads to the right outcome.

Courageous - you will step up to advocate the right thing, go out on a limb for a bold idea and inspire others to do the same in a way that works for them

You've got excellent technical skills and a hunger to explore more of these:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer science or Software Engineering

  • Experience with C#/Net Framework, React and typescript (Frontend)

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services and related technologies (Lambda, AWS CDK, Cloud Formation, Fargate, SQS)

  • Exposure to and experience concepts like Continuous Delivery (CD), Domain Driven Design (DDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), Test Driven Development (TDD)

  • Advanced architectures such as Event Sourcing, CQRS, Zero-downtime

  • Experience researching potential solutions and providing recommendations of technologies.

Working as part of an agile team, the Software Developer is responsible for contributing to:

  • Functional end to end stories that can be delivered (design, develop, test and support) on their own using technologies used to build the application stack using dotnetcore, typescript, CDK, AWS cloud resources & c#

  • Research on potential solutions to complex problems which involve previously unused technologies, able to provide assessments and recommendation of technologies based on research.

  • Continuous improvement of the software iteration process, including CI/CD, automated end to end testing etc.

  • Planning from time to time and helping technical leads and other developers in the team with agile product development ceremonies

  • Pairing with other developers and senior developers in the design and development of features or enhancements.

  • Working with the Product Manager or Technical Writer to document software changes for our clients and client facing departments.

  • Equal Opportunity at PageUp

We know that in many cases individuals from underrepresented groups will not apply for jobs when they don’t meet all criterias, we don’t want this to be the case in our team. If you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily tick every single bullet point on the job description, please still apply and give it a try. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be our newest member.

Our global presence also means those with a little wanderlust have the opportunity to take their career to new places. Pardon the pun.
