Here's what we know for sure: companies work well when they've got the right people. That's what inspired us to build a SaaS platform that makes recruiting, onboarding, developing, and retaining people simple. From humble beginnings in Melbourne, we are now proud to have homes in Sydney, the USA, UK, Singapore, Manila, and Dublin. Our platform is used by 2.6 million customer-employee users in over 190 countries, (but that's enough about us).
Having started your career at a top-tier or mid-tier law firm and now in-house (or with secondment experience), you are an experienced lawyer (4-6PQE) ready to take on a challenging legal counsel role within a growing, global Software as a Service (SaaS) organisation. With broad commercial law experience, including strong global data protection expertise and contract negotiation skills, your style is both resourceful and pragmatic.
You have a proven ability to blend strong technical legal skills with commerciality and common sense. You embrace learning new things and enjoy rolling up your sleeves and giving everything a go. Ownership and autonomy in your role are key motivational drivers. If you enjoy being a trusted business adviser, cross department collaboration, innovative colleagues & a part of an awesome culture, then we're the perfect company for you!
This newly created permanent, full time role will be fast-paced and have a real international flavour. While SaaS or tech experience will be favourably considered, it is not essential. We are looking for someone who is interested in building a career in the growing tech sector, preferably with some in-house Legal Counsel experience in global data protection compliance (Licensed to practice in England & Wales or Ireland).
Reporting to our General Counsel and working closely with our Leadership and wider Sales team, the role covers the following responsibilities:
Client Contract Management and Review - you will work closely with the Sales Team on client contract negotiation
Data Protection Compliance - you will lead the EMEA data protection strategy including data transfer initiatives to third countries, and keep up to date with global data protection impacts
General legal advice & providing timely, commercially-relevant legal advice on a range of issues that arise in a SaaS business (including privacy, data security, IP and supplier contracts)

If you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily tick every single bullet point on the job description, please still apply and give it a try. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be our newest member.
